I would think that as a general rule brass is probably not the best medium through which to create someone’s portrait.
Additionally, I would add another rule of thumb: In the event you decide to use brass as your medium to create someone’s portrait, it will probably not look very nice as adornment for a bellows.
I see your point perhaps oil and canvas would have been better unless……. Maybe she was ugly any way

You’d look disapproving, too, if your portrait was done on a brass bellows. That’s probably the look she gave when she found out what the final.piece would be done on.
